SCENIC TOURS:

San Juan Islands
Day Trip

This day trip incorporates a 45-minute aerial tour plus a stop at either Friday Harbor or Roche Harbor on San Juan Island, or Eastsound on Orcas Island. A return on one of our scheduled flights will follow.

Peruse the shops of scenic downtown Friday Harbor or enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants overlooking the bustling port while watching the ferries come and go. Visit historic Roche Harbor, home of the Hotel de Haro, built in 1886. This popular resort has long been a favorite of celebrities from Theodore Roosevelt to John Wayne. Friday Harbor

If you sometimes long for a time when life was simpler, more tranquil, and slower paced, you’ll be enchanted by Friday Harbor’s ambiance—a charming, walkable seaport built on a hill leading up from the harbor . . . small, friendly stores and restaurants . . . a refreshing absence of fast-food chains . . . a place where you’re likely to recognize your smiling grocery store clerk onstage at the community theater or in the band that plays Sundays at the Port, and where three cars at a stop sign is a traffic jam. But most of the coffee shops offer wireless, a number of restaurants boast world-class chefs, the Palace Theater shows first-run movies, and Smart cars have replaced horse-drawn buggies.

Roche Harbor

Roche Harbor Resort is a picturesque, full-service resort with historic and contemporary accommodations, gardens, marina, restaurant, store and spa. The Hotel de Haro is the state’s oldest continually operating hotel, and its 20 rooms have hosted stays for visitors since 1886, with a fascinating display in the lobby of resort history. Roche Harbor is host to some of the most unique experiences in the Pacific Northwest, a place where you can interact with the beauty around you during your San Juan Island day trip.

Eastsound

At the center of Orcas Island, at the top of a beautiful fjord, Eastsound is a walker’s village alive with art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, cafes, and visitor attractions. Enjoy strolling among historic homes and buildings from the 1880s and picnicking on the village green; summer home of the Saturday Farmers’ Market and live music performances. In the heart of town lies the not-to-be-missed Orcas Island Historical Museum, bursting with island artifacts and photos with six settlers’ cabins on the grounds. The Funhouse Commons and Orcas Center are a short walk just north of the village.
